Meditation can be an incredible way to maintain focus and clarity as we move through our day. Try this simple exercise as an easy way to maintain focus on the present moment:

Focus on the breath. This simple technique can help clear the mind and ground us right where we are. This can be done anytime, anywhere. All we need to do is to FEEL the sensation of the breath move in and out of the body.

Inhaling through the nose feel the breath fill the belly first. Notice how the belly expands to accommodate the breath. Next feel the breath move into the lower part of the lungs and then to the upper part of the lungs or chest. Notice the lungs press up against the rib cage as we inhale.

Reverse this as we exhale. Exhale the air from the chest, then lower part of the lungs and then the belly. By focusing on the breath literally moving in and out of the body we can clear out the mind of thought, noticing the present.

Try to take at least 5 deep breaths in and out. This can be done anytime anywhere to get grounded and refocus.
